Healing Beirut will require more than this project, or the discipline of architecture, could ever offer. What architecture can provide, however, is a new relationship between infrastructure and space. Instead of fighting against the authorial presence of war and trauma in Beirut, we can reframe its impact on the city. Infrastructures which rely on each other make urban bombings nearly impossible...

And when the bombing stops....

When people are no longer perpetual refugees in their own city...

When there is some reprieve long enough to be believable...

then (perhaps then)...

we have made enough space to talk about peace.
